This piece is a meditation on surface and fracture. The upper field, a deep, weathered red, is rich with tonal variation and patina, evoking both warmth and age. The lower section, rough and sandy, is dramatically split by a vertical crackâa literal and metaphorical axis that divides and animates the composition. The use of delicate pink and white lines and dots over the lower surface results in marks that feel ephemeral, almost like traces left by wind or water, or the residue of human presence. They animate the lower half, introducing a sense of movement and temporality against the solidity of the wall. The crack itself becomes a narrative device, a reminder of impermanence and the inevitability of change.
